Sentinare Privacy Policy

Version 3.0 - October, 2004

Use of Personal Information

The management and staff at Sentinare take your privacy very seriously. We recognize that email communications represents a personal, confidential and intimate channel of communications between our clients and their business partners, family, and friends. Consequently we treat all account information, communication flows and message contents as highly privileged and private information. Sentinare does not share, exchange, rent, loan, sell, or otherwise make this information available to any business partner or other third parties. Your information is available to Sentinare operations staff only on a need to know basis and even then, only within the strictly defined bounds of account and system administration.

Demographic information may be aggregated and used for tailoring marketing programs, but the aggregation process eliminates any private or confidential information from being made public. Aggregated information is reviewed before release or use to ensure that out client's privacy and confidentiality are not being compromised.

This privacy policy and its associated procedures are under constant review, and may be modified and updated from time to time. However, users will always have the option of having their information excluded from consideration for use in aggregation.

Sentinare contacts users only in the context of an account related issue or a service announcement. Communications requesting the user to divulge authentication credentials, passwords or other personal information should be treated with suspicion and should be reported to Sentinare's Abuse desk (abuse@sentinare.com)

Receipt of Sentinare service announcements is optional and the end user can opt out of receiving them at the time of sign-up or via links provided in the announcement email or periodic newsletter.

The Sentinare Operating Environment

Sentinare follows robust and effective security practices in the architecture, implementation and operation of our service delivery systems. Individual accounts are logically separated from each other and corporate accounts are isolated using state-of-practice security protocols and by strict adherence to security and administrative procedures. Sentinare believes in the use of encryption technology in providing access to the service delivery platform, so users taking advantage of that feature will also enjoy an extra measure of protection for their information in transmission to and from the Sentinare servers.

The architecture of the Sentinare system does not make use of "web beacons", third party cookies, nor does it use connection data (e.g. browser type, source IP address, etc.) for anything other than session management. These data are not stored or associated in any way with a user's personal information and are not maintained in our system logs beyond the timeframe of normal systems operations practices.

The Right to "Opt-out"

All of the previous statements notwithstanding, the end user still has the right to "Opt-out" of having their personal data included in any data aggregation or reporting process, other than those that may be required by law or via legitimate subpoena. To indicate your desire to opt-out of any data collection or aggregation process, please contact the Sentinare Customer Support team (support@sentinare.com).
